Most horses like dogs, kids and men like routine. Try little things like... start grooming and sadddleing the same way every time in the same order. Most t-breds all had issues from the track. I used to work with one that if you looked at him when you were loading him, he wouldn't get in the trailer! I had a young morgan that hated his ears touched as well. First, there was a HUGE wart in his ear. We had to knock him out cold to burn it out. Next I worked on touching his ears by starting at a spot in his head were he would accecpt me and working up to his ears. I used to have to take the bridle apart but now no problems!! Good Luck!

i have a mare mule that will fight you all day if you try to bridle her from the side, if you stand directly in front ,you can do anything with either ear. anyone have a reason?

Some people are obsessed with ears. If this is not a medical issue the problem is very simple. DON'T PLAY WITH THE FRICKIN EARS. I myself don't like my ears played with I have had many mules and some horses over the years that don't like the ears played with. Simply get a bridle you can take apart easy and don't pull it over the ears or touch them.
There are way bigger issues you could have with your horse, don't make this a big issue.

Amen dude! I agree, get a bridle that takes apart...Also, do not listen to guys on here who tell you to hobble him up and tie his head down and pet his ears...Old school and a damn disater in the mind of the horse. beleive me...."forcing" a horse to submit will get you nowhere in the end except is will litterally break down your horse...not what you want.

All mules are little touchy with there ears. Some mules are xtremely touchy with thier ears and never ger over it. But I dont agree with just leaving their ears alone. If there ears are there only hang up then i agree why mess with it just work around it. But in my experience those kind of mules will have more hang ups that just their ears.

One of the first thing i do with all my mules is work with them so i can touch or rub them anywhere I need to. I want gentle mules not ones with hang ups. Mules that have those extreme sensitivity hang ups are the ones that will make you pay on a mountain someday when they blow up on you and break you in two. When Im crossing a rock slide the last thing I want to worry about is a sensitive mule. I sell those kind, in fact i got one of those for sale right now you can touch her ears but thats about all she will let you touch. Anybody need a mule!!!!!! LOL

Colo B&T that sounds like one hell of a good cross for a mule. I think that warm blood cross sure helps with disposition
