I've had one for several years love it. It's a pain in the a$$ to wash though you have to hand wash it. I wash mine on the front lawn. To big for any washers. Mark

I always wanted a Butler bag, it just seemed like a lot of money to me. Last summer on a fishing trip to Pagosa, I went by David Ellis' place at Durango and bought one of his bags. I love it and wish I had bought one thirty years ago! Probably ANY quality built bag would be worth the purchase.

I have one of the original bags I bought back in the late 80"s, that I am still using today and have bought 2 newer ones in the last 5 or so years and I love them other than they are very bulky. If you need to stay warm and comfortable this is the only way to go and they are large enough you can roll over with no problem. I am very happy with mine, the only problem I have had is with a zipper not bad for 20-25yrs of use.

Thanks

We agree with KRK, have had two since the 80's.

Used the hell out of them when Barb and I lived out west. Bulky and price only things I wish was different...however amortised over 20 something years....pretty affordable.

You can roll over in one and do not feel like you are in a casket.

I have seen some others including Ellis's and like them, however I have not traded my Butler off!

Hey Benny I will trade you my Butler for your David Ellis.LOL!

I like the Butler ok but David's newer beds are a little better quality and the finish on them is hard to beat. I have known David for many years and he made me tents, and cowboy tee-pees in the past now he has a pretty big facility there just north of the old Elmore's Store out of Durango.

Every year at the end of July or first of August (when the snow melt has had a chance to subside) a group of us go fishing at Pagosa. We always go to Durango to the Bar D Wranglers. Everything is usually closed by the time we go through town. Last year we made a special trip to see Dave. I got to pick the color of my tie ropes - score for me! Sometimes I am sooooo easily entertained.

Well Benny next time you go fishing you may want to call me first. I can prove to you things are not closed down. Oh by the way the Bar D boys know me pretty well. LOL!

Mike -- I have my bag now, so everything will work out. It made a difference too! I always sleep outside under the awning. Last summer it was 22 deg. at night. After I got my bag, no more chills. Set aside 3 or 4 days at the end of Jul. or first of Aug. & you're more than welcome to go with us. Last year we even bought licenses!

I have a buttler bag complete custom to fit. I never have to worry about being cold or uncomfortable. It is not a pack bag because of its weight but for warmth and comfort I would suggest it. The price is great for the quaility that you receive and the best thing they are MADE IN THE USA!!!! Good old Cedar City Utah.

I've had mine for about 15 years and have used it extensively. You can wash them but need a big machine like you will find at the laundromat. Always warm and dry even when just laying it out on the ground.

You won't find a better quality sleeping bag and they are American made which is huge in my mind. I've had way too much cheap Chinese stuff that falls apart after one or two uses. Stick with the best.
