First off, don't laugh at this question. Have any of you ever had or know someone, who has ever had a donkey that they chased their dogs with? I don't mean one you have to plow rein, or swat with a stick. What I'm talking about, is one that has a good, gentle handle, that reins well. For some reason this question keeps popping into my head. I keep telling myself, don't be cheap, just spend the money and get a good broke mule. I guess I'm just hard headed.

JKCasey,
I have a couple of mammoth jackstock. The ones that are 14 to 16 hands tall and that's one of the smoothest riding, care footed equines out there, but mules does have a combination of both muscle types. Merideth Hodges has some info on her site regarding them. They are bred to be real gentle with people also, but as with everything else, some breeders get careless and breed for stupidity and color instead of function.
Best luck and fun to you.
