Welcome to the site! I live south of you in the Corona area if you know where that is. What kind of hunting do you do and what kind of hounds do you have?

I have 2 young walker females(7 mo. & 1yr.) and an 11 yr, old walker female that I am using to train them. I have been running bobcat & fox, but would like to get them on some coon to help strengthen the pups up on the tree. My old dog is a great hard tree dog, but can't really keep up on a good hard cat or fox race. The pups run hard and tree hard, but don't stick the tree long enough and the old dog doesn't get there fast enough. That's my story right now.
What are you runnin?

At the moment I am running nothing. I hunted for years and then due to many reasons I got out of it for the ten to fifteen years. I am starting to get back into the hounds now and was going to do the same thing you are doing. I was going to get one or two trainers and a couple of young pups. I figured I run the trainers till the pups got big enough to train and then just go on from there.

When I did hunt we ran cats about 99 per cent of the time. The areas I use to run coons is all houses now so to tell you where to run a coon I would even try. I know guys use to run coons down on the canals east of the Salton Sea... And they use to run them around the east side of the sea. But I do not know if you can even hunt down there anymore. And unless you dogs are pretty good swimmers I would recommend the canals either.

I am not asking you tell me but haven't you any creeks east of you that could hold a few coons. Even around by Frazer Mountain might find some spots.

At any rate welcome to the site and sorry I could not be more..
