just a kid from Washington

Post by 5 hounds »

hey my names anthony i just started getting into hound hunting this year, my and my buddy would go hound hunting with people we know down in oregon and cali. it got me hooked! so me and my buddy decided we wanted to get into in and before you know it we had 3 pups that we are trainin on caged coons and 2 finished hounds we picked up for free! we split all the cost of equipment and we are set up now. we have been going out every weekend for the past couple months workin with the dogs and scouting for good coon ground. i was hoping if someone would let us in on some good coon ground to hunt in washington? cant wait for season to start!

that whole area is prime coon huntin, take short drive and hunt the lower end of Jackson creek outside Olympia, when I lived there I would walk hunt my dogs along the creek or strike em from the road and usually treed one or two every time I went out, also rochester has some some pretty good spots for coon hunting, try and get a hold of George Martinez at Sandyrivers kennels and I'm sure he could help you out, also try to talk to Niki Jackson, she is the president of the washington coonhound association, hope this helps

Howdy, Im from up here near shelton washington and our hound club holds trials during the summer in Matlock washington-just a short drive from you, in fact we just held a trial last weekend there. Im kelly from olympic tree hound association and I help run the trials. Just thought I would let you know that august 14th and 15th we are holding the water race finals if you want to come and meet a whole bunch of hound hunters. I hunt in dewatto for the most part, do pretty good there. I have hunted the satsop, and out in matlock/dayton area as well. I have hunted with Nikki Jackson out near Rochester and had a blast. Just thought I would put in my 2 cents for ya. If you want to see pics from the last trial, check out olympic tree hound association on facebook.
I put the hick in chick.....in a good way ;)
