Greenie from idaho eager to learn!

Postby dmunk » Mon Sep 19, 2011 5:26 am

Howdy,
My name is Daman & i'm a good old farm boy from south idaho. Loved dogs my entire life, but only ones we had growing up were ranch dogs. Recently got a 1 1/2 yr old rhodesian ridgeback and have been taking her and one of our cowdogs coon hunting alot lately. My family owns a pretty big ranch here and we have lots of coons, coyote, and cougar on or near the place. Really would like to get into running yote's, but im not sure my dog is fast enough? A good staghound might be needed in the near future? Ive been trying to read up on the best way to keep training my dog. Trying not to mess up. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry Glen, learned how to pm people but i guess I didn't check back on this thread! oops.
I am from Rockland Idaho, a little valley tucked a little ways from American Falls. My family has a descent sized ranch there with lots of yote, coon, and cougar. I just have one dog, but have been having alot of fun learning about hound hunting.
Being from Melba, do you head south and hunt the owyhee, or north in the forest?
