Hello from California's Central Valley

New to hunting with hounds and am looking to, I guess ,apprentice and go along with someone before I go off on my own.I am a falconer so my experience is only with bird dogs .I also passed my trappers exam ad would like to learn that also.Any suggestions are appreciated .

They have a club there called The Modesto Houndsmen. They have a site just type in Modesto Houndsmen. That's where a lot of hunters go for field trials. I'm sure there are guys that could help you out.

Ive heard,Id like to get our and get my hands dirty and learn a bit before thinking joining.They seem very close knit which I understand.

Check out some of the field trials and water races no pressure joining but you get to meet people and watch some dogs race and have some fun .
