Hello from Mont.

Hello all! I've been reading this forum for a while now and couldn't help myself from joining in. You all have a lot of knowledge that I would like to pick your brains for. I'm impressed to no end on how avid most of you are about leaving the cat in the tree.

I live in southern Montana and am just getting into the hounds. This is the first year that I've made time to hunt much and I'm enjoying it to no end. I run a Black and Tan and usually run with some friends that run walkers and blue ticks.

My brother-in-law got me into this sport and has a really nice female that I ran my dog with to show him the ropes. I guess I owe any success of my dog to his female.

Here are a few pics of two cats my dog put up last weekend when running alone. I turned out on a female just for practice and she met up with a male sometime in the night. The male treed first and when I got to the tree, my dog was still treeing and after 15-20 minutes of filming with the video camera, my dog just left. Just like that, gone! About a munute later I heard him strike on a track and the treed female about a minute later about 100 yards away. It was my first time running on a lion track without any other dogs with him.

Once again, I'm glad to be here soak up some information.

Thank you.
