Hello everyone, My name is Robby, Im pretty new to all of this, but I have always been interested in running game with dogs. Right now all I have is a couple of blue lacys, they do everthing I will ever want them to do. Right now they are trained on blood trails, and I want them to have a little more time with that before I introduce them to other game. I've enjoyed what I've read so far and look forward to more good stories and advice.

Welcome aboard. I've wondered about those Lacy dogs. Tell us a little about them. What kind of track and tree dogs do they make? Are they more of a stock/farm type dog that will hunt, or more of a typical hunting type dog like most of the curs? It is said that the Plott family brought some Lacy dogs from Texas and it's thought that they were crossed into some of the plott dogs.

Cab, thanks for the welcome. These dogs are pretty cool little dogs. Med nose, gritts to spare, super smart. I had someone tell me once " you'll find dogs that will do their jobs better, but you will wont find a dog that will do everything as well as a lacy" Its a joke around us people that have them that we never had to train our dog to do their job, because they just seem to take to what ever you want them to do.
If you want to know more you can go to www.lacydog.com.
Here are some pics of lacys in action

Nice picts. You can send that blue dog to Idaho anytime you want. I would love to try one on our bears and lions. I have been looking at curs for some time and really like them, except for this one fault, (fault only for my needs here). They don't stay with the hard running little bears long enough to get them treed. My ideal lenght of race would be 2-3 hours. After that, the chances of treeing them gets less and less. However most of the Kemmers, Mt. Curs, that I have tried only ran 30-45 minutes and came back. What kind of "track stay" does the Lacy's have as a rule?
