New from Utah

Post by timothy »

Hey guys My name is Tim I am 24, and I am from Roy Utah. My father in law got me into running hounds. He has been running them on lion and bob-cat for 20+ years now. I have a black and tan that I got from Kenny Duncan. Its a good dog, about 6 months old now. It is my first dog. I named him Xbox, I figured it was fitting since I sold my Xbox to purchase the dog! I like going to field trials, there is a club that runs them in morgan on my In-Laws place so I got it pretty lucky for that. But I also love the hunting. Anything getting me in the mountains is a great time!

Welcome, How is your Duncan dog working out so far. Is he a cat or bear dog?

I want to run cats. he is coming around though, I was told black an tans are slow coming on so he seems to be about right. I drag meat scraps, chicken liver across my yard for him to find and he does a good job. He is like any kid though he gets distracted. He does use his eyes alot, and remebers spots i have put it in, checks those first then gos back to the trail. He is a great swimmer. We were running some older dogs of my father in laws in some practice water races and had a coon in the cage and Xbox wanted to get it. he would run circles around it and bark at it. I put the coon away though i dont want him getting bored, or intimidated.
