Thanks :D .
I have one male from Andy Hagberg. And also a female that is a swedish breding. But almost all swedish plotts have their rots from ursus blood linjes. We mostly hunt bobcats and bears with the hounds. But of seson we use them also on martens and badgers were i live.

What kind of bear season do you have? how big do they get and how do you hunt them.

The bear season starts 21 of august. And sweden is split into difrent areas, where the atorities alows a number of bears to be shot depending on how big the population is in that area. Anyone with a hunting licens are alowed to hunt bear. The biggest one i think was around 300kg but avrege is rund 160-200kg. Alomst all bears are shot under dog hunts. Alot during the moose hunt fore moose dogs. But the plottdogs are winning ground in sweden.

Hi Swede!
Fun to see there are more Scandinavians here :D
You're a lucky guy, since you've got hounds. I'm dreaming about getting a pack together. - Tired of governmental payed d.... shooting problem bears from a helicopter on spring snow. Thats not the way to do it!!!
I'm going bear huntin in Jämtland this season, without any suitable dog though, but I've got a long term plan..
