Hello To Everyone

Hey,
I just found this spot for introducing myself. I put a post up about doing some trading and probably got the cart ahead of the horse. I am the world's dumbest computer guy. Anyway, I just want to say Hi and tell you a bit about myself. I have been a fishing guide in Oregon for well a lot of years and have owed a hunting outfit in Wyoming for 8 years. I am married and we have a brady bunch family with 6 good kids. YEE Haa they are all now graduated from high school and now the old man has time to do some hunting for himself.
I grew up in Toledo Washington where I started my years hunting and fishing. I started running hounds when I was in High school. My favorite movie is Where the red fern grows and that was me. I spent nights all by myself running up and down rivers and creeks chasing coons... or deer or elk or coyotes etc.... that is how it was when I started. I loved the sport the first time ai heard a hound bawl. Well, I started getting better dogs and more importantly I started learning how to hunt with hounds. I will never forget my first bobcat. It was like my first deer, the feeling has never been matched. I took my first bobcat with a guy Elmer Blankenship. The best cat guy I ever knew. Well, I moved to Oregon and had to get rid of my dogs. I had a very good strike dog and 2 other very good hounds but instead of selling them, I gave them to a guy that I knew would hunt them and take care of them. It was like an adoption more than selling.
I am getting back into hounds now that my life is where I have time to hunt with them in teh winters. I went on a lion/lynx hunt this last December in BC and it was incredible and put the love right back.
I was told from one of my customers in CA about this site and thought I should get on. I look forward to learning from you guys and maybe go on a hunt or two with you. If you are going to be at the Portland Sportsman Show this next week, please stop by my booth in the E building. Look for all the antelope on a corner booth. I would like to meet soem of the local houndman.Talk to you soon. Jon
