I'm from Ontario Canada. My first bear hunt was with Gene White of Knoxville Tn., in the mid 70's. I was in my early teens. My first hunt was with Gene's Plott hounds (white hollow plotts). Thanks to Gene White, I have run a bear camp ever since then . Gene White was a GREAT man and INSPIRATION to young hunters!!! I had the pleasure of having him as a guide in the 83' when my dad got him a work permit to guide bear hunters.
