Hey I'm Josh, and I am here for one specific reason. I have absolutely no knowledge about training a dog, especially to hunt. Heck, I don't even know what breed I would need to hunt. I mostly hunt coyote and squirrel, but I want to branch out to other animals. What would be a good dog for general tracking and hunting? I don't want to hunt any type of bird, if it helps narrow stuff down. As I said, I know nothing about dogs, and figured I should start seeking knowledge on my goal for a hunting companion online. Please keep in mind that I just turned 18, and don't have much in the way of money. Thank you.

Hey Josh. I know of a black mouth cur that will work for coyote and tree squirrel. Not saying every bmc will do that job but the one I know of does it very well. Hope you get a dog and have fun because running a dog is one of the most amazing things you can experience.
