Want to get into bear hounds the right way wv

Bear hunting for years with a hand full of almost. Want to own hounds but want to do it right. Hounds are legal here in wv and I’m hopeing to find a mentor to help steer me away from makeink to many mistakes. In addition to that I’m also thinking about a diy backcountry spring bear hunt in Idaho but don’t have any friends as diehard as my self willing to rough it.
