Howdy all,
Just a Hounder from Northern WI. I'm a young'un but been going along for about 10 years now. Run bobcats, coyotes and bear mainly. Me and my uncle have 4 dogs (hard to have your own pack when your away at school half the year!). Two redbones, one walker and one redtick looking thing.
Love the site, been reading a lot of the old posts, very interesting stuff.....Hope to learn a lot from here.....
Figured I'd throw up a few pictures of me and the dogs....Just some game we've gotten over the years (it was tough to find 3 good pictures over 10 years, not saying much for the pack there! haha)

Nice pics, where are you in NE Wisconsin. I am in the UP. I like the looks of the hound with the 1/2 dark face(and I am a Plott guy). I am 100 miles from NE wi, Houghton / Hancock area.

I'm not really NE, I'm actually from Rhinelander, which is North Central, I guess you could say.....Bout an hour'ish south of Land O' Lakes......
Thanks for the compliment on the walker; just some local breeding there, runs a hot track real well, but hes a silent cold tracker....kinda a minus there....runs bear and yotes well, puts good pressure on em....
Hows hunting in the UP? I've always wanted to try hunting up there.....I know you got huge country up there, hows that for hunting? Enough roads/access(don't get me wrong, i love a good hike, but theres a limit, haha)? Run into wolves much? Private land problems ever? You guys still get 3 cat tags a year, when it now takes us 7 years to get one!?

I am only a little way from you. I was living in Eagle River for a bit. I was on the same road as Jeff Reeves. The hunting just sucks lately. The MDNR issued twice as many tags(bear) than about seven years ago....nothing left. The unregulated commercial bear baiters run 50 to 100 baits...that is my fight for the past couple years. The cat situation is worse...went several times never cut a track. Now coyotes and wolves tons. Don't be wishing for more bear and cat tags.....Michigan sucks. If you ever come to the copper country stop in at the Ford dealer on M26 in Houghton ask for the dog guy. I might have to start on them yotes......

Wow, guess its just a case of the "grass is always greener".......I'm by no means a kill 'em all guy, but I always thought your increased tag amounts up there were cause you simply had more game.....Didn't know it was that poorly mismanaged.....Guess Wisconsin isn't that bad after all! As long as there is game and I can chase em, I'm happy
.......
I'll look for ya if I get up that way.....
And ya yotes are a blast, only second to bobcats on my list.......
