12/27/10 coon hunt

mountain lion hunting has been beating us up this year. So my son and i decided to go coon hunting. A storm was moving in so we tried to beat the storm. We loaded the dogs up around 9:30 last night, by 10:30 the dogs were trailing a coon. when we got the the tree my two dogs had two coons in it. then we walked a little further and the dogs started on another. i was a little concerned because the dog were acting funny, and were struggling to get the track lined out. they final got to a tree and my son was the first two find the glowing eyes and three coons behind them. As we were taking pictures and celebrating the dogs were still acting weird and would leave the treed coons and run to another tree about 30 feet away, then run back to the tree with the 3 coons in it. They did this for about 5 minutes. we sat there shining our lites in the other tree and finally we found a fourth coon in the lone tree. So we ended up catching 6 coons in three trees in about 2 1/2 hours it was a good night to share with my dogs and with my 13 year old son.

that would be nice to have a place to go catch that many coon. not many places like that where im from. thats awesome that you brought your kid along. best thing you can do for a kid is take him huntin
