Dogs Trashed

Postby cjohnson1178 » Sat Dec 10, 2011 3:26 pm

Went out looking for a cat track, with no luck. Around 2:00 in the afternoon it started to snow pretty good so I decided to call it quits. I put the dogs down to road them the last 10 miles out. They went down to the creek and I must of been day-dreaming cause I looked at the GPS and they were 600 yards and moving. There were a ton of elk in the area and the dogs never made a peep so I couldn't help but be a little concerned. We never had a problem with elk before but after a long day in the box you never know. I sat a listened and finally herd some dogs making noise and about 1 1/2 miles later the were treed. When I got there I found them going at this stump. After about 30 minutes of digging and tearing into this stump they finally made it in far enough to pull it out. I was a little disapointed when out came this big old boar coon, I was hoping for a bobber but atleast we didn't go home empty handed.
