Cut up Pads

Anyone have issues with their dogs cutting up their pads? I have a dog who always seems to get a cut there while hunting.
Does tuff pads really work? Or is it worth trying? Or does anyone else have any tricks they use to toughen them up?

My grand Daddy and daddy fox hunted and I bear and coon hunt.We all use venice turpintine and/or koppertox to toughen up dogs pads.You should be able to get both at Tractor supply or any good feed store
