Are there any good redbones left?
I am simply wanting to know if there are any bloodlines left that are worth investing in. I have not seen one person on here that is a committed red bone guy. I am just getting into the hound world and dont know much but from what iv'e seen there are no legitimately well known strains of red bones left worth buying. Would like to know if there are any, and if so where i could contact these people. Thank you, once again im just an ignorant 15 year old kid, so i could b completely wrong.

Buy a subscription to Coonhound Bloodlines .The June issue(i believe) is dedicated to the Redbone breed each and every year .Breeders from around the country advertise in it.

Timber chopper is supposed to be great. I have a redbone I got from foothills redbone kennel years ago. He is an above average dog. Not too sure about the newer stuff but they seem to be using a lot of the same blood

I'm not a guy, but I'm committed to redbones, and Raisin Rivers' are some good ones.
Join the American Redbone Association and they will send you their annual Redbook with ads, history, membership contacts, etc.
The UKC board generally has ads for upcoming litters.
describe what you like in a hound, what game you want to run, what kind of terrain you run in, and whether you want a pup, a started or finished hound and what flaws you really want to avoid and we can find you some good ones--probably right there indiana.
American Redbone Days is coming up soon in Bellevue, MI, near Kalamazoo, on June 11-13
go up there and see if you like anything

There's a bunch of them. Don't know where you're at in Indiana but American Redbone Days is in Bellevue Michigan this year. Bellevue us just across the border from Indiana.
Montana Red Kennels - redbones that catch game and hold it until you get there.

Oh yea,
Stay away from copelands red hot redbone kennel in SE Georgia. Have seen a lot of garbage come outta that place. ^^^^^ these guys are right, don't settle. Go to redbone days and talk to everyone there, I'll personally guarantee you won't find a person there not willing to help you find a dog that will work for you. Most guys there will be happy to see a young man interests in hounds, after reading your other post it would be a great place for you to go and get training tips, pointers etc. I wouldn't recommend buying the first pups you see (often times there will be a litter or 3 on the ground there.) but find a person with the kind of dogs that you are looking for, ask if they intend to breed, have upcoming breedings planned etc. haven't owned or met a redbone yet that isn't a food creeper and food snatcher, but some will make fine hounds. Pretty to look at too.
good luck!
