I gotta deer runner

Post by beaglewalkerhunter4 »

this past weeked i was hunting my beagle walker mix. I noticed that she was moving this track much faster then usaual so i figured she must be on a deer but i wasnt sure yet. i let her run for a few more minutes then she busted into an open feild in hot pursuit of a doe..i knew i was in for one long night. after 3 miles i finally caught her right before the highway, thank god. But my question is how can you tell when a dog is running a deer? and how to break her.. she is about a year and a half.

deer runner

I have or had a deer lover. The best way I found that worked was consistant correction with electricity. Stay on the dog and don't up it will learn that it doesn't like deer anymore. As far as knowing if they are running deer usually they run in circles or stay in same area.

shock collar worked wonders for me. my dog never chases them, could care less when she seems em in the day.

the past few deer runs that i have been on the deer just took a beeline out of the state. i thought they just ran straight untill they lost the dog? and i also dont have the money for any fancy collar iam only 14. so do you have anything that will work besides the shock collar?

well, i have heard of people puttin the deer scent gland on a hot wire fence, and when the dog goes to get the gland, then they get shocked. pretty sure that same method is in the walk with wick books, but not 100% sure
