coon hunting last night

so me and a friend went coon hunting last night we turned the dogs out and was just walkin along my 8 month old blue dog strikes and is movin fast when all of a sudden he goes silent so im thinkin dang dog is bein a tard i get up to him and he is just standing there in a perfect show pose and im thinkin what the hell is he doin so i walk up to him and notice he has a damn snare around his throat i couldn't believe it so i loosened it and let him go and left it there the thing is its out in the swamps but right on a path that people jog and walk there dogs on kinda pissed me off but got the dogs turned the other way it was about 5 minutes and my pup fires up and takes off with my friends black and tan right behind him took him a bit but he located and treed and had 4 coons in the tree so pet him up real good along with my blue tick plott and shot the coon and seconds later im draggin a real big boar with two dogs latched on to it out of the bush so it started a scary crappy night and ended up pretty dang good

At least you found your dog in time. That is why I hate traps with a passion, especially snares where you won't be able to hear the dog bark.
