People need to realize its not the breed of dogs or color of your dogs that catches game. It's the blood running through them. A good bloodline is what you want not color of dog or looks of a dog it's wat they have in them and the drive. Not a damn thing with a redbone.

Nothing wrong with a redbone if its bred right do your homework and don't have just a bluetick or just a walker because others use them. Use what works for you you have a long road ahead of you and you will have to see what dog fits u best and the hunting u do

I have a couple and one of the is very fast long legged sucker. The only problem I have with them is due to the climate where I live. Dark dogs get hotter quicker and mine are some dark redbones.

I agree completely with the few guys about a dog with good breeding" not the breed" I have had guys say why do you have a redbone they suck or black & tans are slow etc.. The most popular saying I get you need a walker they are the best !

Ya 4x4 is right. My redbone gets hot occasionally but he's is great shape it dont affect him much he did a 16 mile loop and run on s nasty nasty Tom last week before they treed. Blood is everything. There all hounds and all can get the job done if its there. Sometimes a dog has it sometimes they don't and it don't matter the breed of dog. In my pack I have some blues reds walkers and they get it done. My redbone is my grittiest hardest tree dog and will put anything mean up a tree without quitting.

I'll give you a call soon. I haven't been running in a couple of weeks. Family commitments have kept me from going out.

I also like redbones and use mine for running coyotes and also just got a redbone/black tan cross I'm going to start this winter for coyotes as well.. I paid 125.00 for adoption fee from the dog pound and 125.00 for the redbone cross that came from a breeder/hunter... Lots of good dogs around..

My experience with Redbones is they are a well balanced hound that you can catch anything and every thing with.Wish there were some in my area ,i'd own one .
