i need help with learning how to tan the coon skin. im a new coon hunter so whats some tips

put 1 cup of alum & 1 cup of salt in a bucket put 1 gal of hot water and then 1 gal of cold water im a taxidermist and i use this on all my hides

has any one tried that tannit yet? i seen it a catalog, wondering if the hide gets rel hard or what?

Alum tanning has been around for a long time but there are a lot better tans now days. I also wonder why anyone bothers trying to tan a hide when you can send it to a proffessional tanner and have it done for around $15. Moyle Mink does an outstanding job on furberrers.
