pet coon

Postby buster95 » Tue Mar 02, 2010 4:04 pm

would it be a good idea to have a pet coon and walk it through the woods for a scetn trail and hang a hide in the tree ur pet climbs up carry the coon back to the house and then let some pups trail it?iv seen people let their dogs run pet coons but some people find chasing a pet with another pet is cruel so that aint my question..i want a pet coon not for training only but i like coons...just something about them i like to study..so if you know where to obtain a pet coon tell me..preferably a baby

I don't know if you have ever raised one. But when my wife and i first got to gether she had three she found in a log. the mother got shot the night before, so she took them in and raised them for a while. They are horrible to have a round my advise is not to do it keep them out in the woods where they belong.

I had a pet coon we would put him on a leash and lead him to a tree and tie a long leash to the tree. I would make shure he was in the tree then go turn the pups loose and let them trail and bay the tree.worked real good till that coon didn't stay in the tree one day and no more pet coon. But worked good for the pups.
