Figured I'd share some pics from the hunt last night. A friend of ours just got permission to hunt a NICE duck club, so we went out there to help him break it in.

The owner doesn't want us driving trucks, so he let us use his 6 seater Polaris Ranger. I prefer to walk hunt, but that place is huge and wet right now.

So we loaded that puppy down and got with it!

The dogs ended up with 3 coons in 2 trees (we didn't stay out there too long). The first coon bailed and we had a 35 minute fight in a slough filled with tullies and about 3 ft of water. My little pup got himself worked over pretty hard, but I tell you what he's one hard headed gamey SOB. He gave that thing hell. He'd bay a while, then couldn't take it anymore and bail off right on top of it in the water, once he did he wasn't quite sure what to do, (couldn't coordinate biting it and swimming at the same time), and that thing had it's way with him. He's got more holes than a darn strainer. Once the dogs smashed all the tullies down and that thing had no where to hide, my Joker dog put an end to him in a couple seconds flat.

Not sure he's a grade dog, he's a mixture of about 4 different breeds. The Red dog and the B&T are littermates. He runs a mixed bunch. But he's coming around to see the WHITE, LOL

I had a litter of 7 pups once. 1 rebone, 1 bluetick, 2 redtick, and 3 black and tans. That came from a Redbone pop and Bluetick/Walker mom!

Nothing wrong with running different colors, seems like you get the best of all worlds sometimes.

Looks like you guys had a good time! Wish I was there. Seems all the good hunting you guys end up doing is when Im not there....Holdin out on me?

Mack is feeling a little left out. His voice is back, and seems to be ok now. Im just at a loss on finding somewhere, where there is a coon or two for him to get in on. Hes got a brain, he just needs help using it sometimes LOL.

I've asked that someone invite you guys when we go. But some people are rude I guess. Maybe one day I'll swing by and grab him and take him, even if you can't go.

I think you should take him out to your property more often. It has coons on it, you just have to go when they are there! Take him early morn, or after work. Do one loop, and head back. One of these times he's gonna catch one - but he can't if he's at home. Hunting him alone is the best thing for him.

I know I know, I dont hunt him nearly as I should. No excuse.

Well we're going Friday night for sure if you want to come down. I'll probably take him Thurs night just me and Jake. Before that road got bad, I was taking him every other morning or so when I got home, for a good two months. Then that road got washed out, and I dont trust myself in that truck through that narrow passage way of trailers LOL. I have faith he'll figure it out by himself. But he sure likes Aspey showing him the way

I'm down for Friday night for sure. I think we'll be going again Sat as well.

Your not the only one who wants an Aspen pup now, so we'll see how genrous he is! I could might take Mack for you, cause I know you work Sat nights.

Your more than welcome to take him anytime. It would be good for him to be around other people and dogs. I know you'll treat him like your own

Friday night is a go on my end. Talk to "MR Rude" and see if he's coming. I will call tomorrow and set plans.
