Hey what I have done to my pup to improve hunting with out older dogs. it works GREAT if you dont have ANY older dogs. I suggest you to set a camera and food spot. In the morning you can check your camera memory in computer see what time it was last. Thats how you tell how GOOD dogs you have to find coon. If its four hours old or two or 30 min. That way you know your dogs have AWSOME nose. I have successful first four dogs became best dogs. I have chased almost four times a week. Try to count longer you wait the BETTER hunting dog you have. Make your dogs work SO HARD find it right tree from 200 yds to 1 mile from release spot.
I would suggest you to buy a ranch where there is soo many swamp and heavy forest area. I got treed about 10 coons per week so easy. Some time three coon per night. Some time five coons go together. I have a frined who got 12 coons in one spot. I am trying to steal his picture that have 12 in one picture, I want to show u all so bad. LOL. He wouldnt sell to me! I should buy him a LOT beer so I can get copy from him. anyway its fun.
Its better than trap. MOST coon wouldnt come to trap depend how you set up. I really like way I do. its FUN.
It build your dogs to be stronger in dark and no fear. I put four mo pup to 8mo then change to new step. Depend on how you feel on training your pup. you have to show your dog live coon two times in roll cage then after that no more. it will work good after that.
