do temp control what time you should go chase coons

i am a night person and been taking my dogs and starting to run about ten or eleven but last night went out early around seven had one caught and heading to the next spot at nine thirty but did not get another one to go. when it is cold should you run earlier or later?

I think the movement patterns have more to do with moon phase, pressure etc. For sure all the time is the best, in other words whenever you can get out.

Thats a question that coonhunters have been asking forever. Even John Wick addressed it in one of his books. I think he said it best when he said "if you dont go you wont tree any coon". He said the only time he would think about not going is when you get the first rain after a long dry spell. Said for some reason the dogs cant trail in those conditions. Food for thought.

sweet thanks i get what ya guys are saying more time in the woods behind the hounds more you will see in the trees. or if the dogs get there to fast than the ground.

when I trapped I kelp records and it showed on warm nights they came out, and before a cold front was coming in,and another thing grinners move earlier then coons. when it was real cold and you had a warm night you would catch coons and their belly would be yellow where they stayed in the den and peed on themselves,several old boars to gather.

Ive been noticeing that the first night or two of a cold snap we dont seem to do as well
and also on full moons dont seem to do as good. around here seems like 8:00 or so is
good and just gets better from then on. but i go when ever i get time.
just what ive seen lately
