Treeing Issues

Postby mdeq » Fri Nov 11, 2011 10:55 am

I have a 4 yr old plott dog that I used to run on bear. He will run and bark on coon and he will go right up to the tree its in, but wont tree. Hell jump up on it but wont bark treed. But yet he barks on track. Any suggestions?

would he tree on bear? if so he just might not have the drive to tree coon cuz he likes bear more. but i'd just get him amped up at the tree for awhile to get him treein then knock it out to em. then after doin that fer awhile he should realizing if he trees he gets the coon. also tyin em back from the tree like 10 er 15 ft and smackin the tree and gettin em to bark like that has worked good fer me. good luck.

sometimes dogs like one animal more than the other and they care more. But I would have to agree with Perky's second idea. Tie him up away from the tree and get him siked up from there and yes he will realize that it is good to tree more that one animal :)
