Hunted this morning and put one coon through a high fence, treed one and put the last two in the ground. I was proud of how the potlickers worked but it sure it tough pulling them off a coon in a hole.
Adios,
Gary

There is a smaller place I hunt that if I want to tree a coon I had better bring it from somewhere else. They go straight to a hole every time.

Guys I hear you, I dont know if they are evolving or what, Treed coon is getting to be a rarity for me in utah.(at least in my area)
Dogs take them on the ground or get pulled away from a hole. very frustrating!!

AW Pitdawg, I surely apologize, I totally missed your reply, Im down in Price Ut,
I have considered hole dogs many times but wonder if my hounds would just snack on it,
My hounds are pretty mellow but a agressive terrier might get into a pickle, Then again I dont know much so maybe I am full of it. whatca got?

I got a couple of little patterdales that HATE coons!!! Theyre not dog aggressive at all, they get along great with other dogs and we hunt with lots of other breeds at times. I live in West Jordan but actually my inlaws are all from Helper/Price... so I wouldnt mind a trip your way one of these days! I havent had much luck on the coons in this cold the last 2 weeks, Have you???

Pitdawg, Nope no luck lately think they be a shibbering in the holes, I think I will wait out the below zero temps a bit, hard on the hounds and rather fruitless
