[quote="coondawg1972"]HELLO FELLOW COONHUNTERS. MY NAME IS PAUL I'VE BEEN RUNNING HOUNDS ALL OF MY ADULT LIFE. GAVE IT UP ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO UNTILL THIS JAN, 2008. I STARTED PUTTING ME A PACK BACK TOGETHIER WITH A WHOLE LOT OF GONNA BEES AND AND A FEW SHOULD HAVE BEENS. ITS TOOK ME THREE MONTHS TO START TREEING COONS IN THE WILD BUT JUST WONDER IF YOU ALL REMEMBER WHEN YOU STARTED HUNTING AND TRAINING HOUNDS. I TELL YOU I HAD FORGOTEN THE JOY OF JUST STARTING OUT WITH A YOUNG PACK AND WATCHING THEM GROW AND CHANGE INTO COONHOUNDS. IT HAS BEEN AN AMAZING 5 MONTHS. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT THEY WILL BE IN A YEAR.[/quot

Shoot I started over every few yrs do too deaths or bord cause they finished out and let em go and started over .Training pups from scratch and not with help from other dogs is how I hunt and your right a young dog or dogs and a yr or 2 hunting em is quite a rush and a true experience and each time ya do it ya gain by its experiences and add new understandings too.

its funny how a fella only remembers the cool stuff, and selectively doesn't think about how much shoe leather goes into a dog,i always forget between starting one and finishing one, anyway good luck

the young dogs sure make you feel proud when they turn it on. Thats what keeps a guy going i believe. Keep up the good work with your young dogs.
