If you want to get her barking, live trap one... let her see it and get fired up --have a helper hold her while you turn it loose so she can see it run away while she is barking... that will often get one to open on track..
there are a lot of dogs that will not open on a laid track.. 10-20 minutes is a long time for a young dog that has not ran a track.

Go to www.huntsmart.com and order you a Walk With Wick book.. you will learn more from that book than I can tell on this thing!-- read it several times.

I you want you can live trap a coon drag the live trap for awhile through the woods and then tie the coon and trap in the tree so she can see it but not reach it, once she has the tree barking thing figured, let her fight the cage and then let the coon go and dump her on it and i bet she trees just fine, sounds like she will do great

At your dogs age it should be treeing coons all day long if it has seen them already. Too much cage work can screw dogs up. You gotta take the time let her hunt and figure it out on her own. Too many traps and drags and that dog thinks your gonna give it to them the easy way every time out. If u can get a good older broke dog and let ur pup catch on by following that dog and learning that way. Jmo. My dogs start on coons at 4 months or when they can keep up and follow leads.

i wouldnt shoot the coon out if the dog isnt treeing. it will not help your dog . trap a coon and take it to a place that has one small tree that the coon will run for if possible . keep your dog on a lead while you let the coon go so the dog can watch it climb the tree and when the coon will be out of harms way let the dog go . pet and praise for treeing only .the idea is to teach the dog that coons climb ,and the petting and praising is to reinforce treeing behavior that should already be bred into the dog .if she does good on the training session try her in the woods .im assuming your dog has no problem with gunfire . gunfire will distract some young dogs from treeing if they arent use to it. a good broke coonhound that is not ill natured is great for starting pups with if you have the option.feeding dogs caged coons all the time is a bad thing . once they have been shown the basics . no amount of caged coons is going to help .make sure laws allow the training that your doing .

I would let them watch you turn a coon loose to many times I have made the mistake and it was a pain trying to get her to find them on her own
