Tracking collars

Postby gsimmons3 » Thu Feb 20, 2014 5:25 pm

I just started coon hunting. And I was looking at everyone's tracking collars. And I noticed they were quite expensive. So I was wondering. Do I absolutely need one or can I go without? All I will be doing is coon hunting.

You should be alright without one, but be prepared to get in good shape in a hurry. The old timers used to catch lion and bear with nothing but a pair of boots and their ears. Make sure your name and number is on the dogs collar just in case. If your dog doesn't make much noise those strobe lights work pretty good, depending on the terrain and cover. Good luck
