Nice night hunt, roaded the dogs (Reggie, Lynn) they struck right away trailed down a few hundred yards and caught a coon in a water pipe up above the water. I shimmyed out on the pipe bent over and was looking a coon right in the face, went back to the car to grab my camera and he had made his way down the pipe. Pipe goes under the orchard under the levy, quite away so I called the dogs and sent them down the road. They struck and ran about a mile were a few feet of the road when my female let her nice rollover locate bawl go and I new it was over. hopped out of the rig and they were caught in a slash pile of brush, trees, and leaves. Long story short I had to dig to the dogs and coon and it was the biggest california coon i've ever seen. They caught a 19lb last week and this one made that one look small. Very brown in color as well. They had it bayed up for about thirty minutes before I called them out. The coon came with them and took a tree and left to be caught again. After that we went home. Nice night.
