Coon race on the river

Went frog gigging with one of my sons tonight, we got a good mess of frogs and shut the motor off to take a break and across the river from us we heard a deep rolling pulling mouth hound. It was really covering some ground and puting the mouth out we could bearly hear it to start with but it came right across the river from us a couple hundred yards up in the swamp and locked down treed chopping every breath. We saw the hunters lights come thru the woods and shining the tree. Must of took them about 30 min. to find the coon with that hound treeing every breath and then they shot and all was quiet. That hound had an outstanding mouth and the part I heard did a jam up job. my son said it don't get much better than this frog gigging on the river and getting to hear a hound race all at the same time. He shut the motor off about an hour later to arrange stuf in the boat befor we headed to the landing and we could bearly hear the same hound way up the hill running another one.
