went out tonite hunted 2 youngs dogs solo couple drops didnt get a thing going. had some friends down that wanted to see some action so took minn and trix out right as started drizzling on and off and got windy.
made 4 runs and each time dogs layed up treed no track. 2 of the runs i would bet anything i own had coon, 2 runs didnt sound to hot by locates and neither treed as hard but had coon on every tree. (that was a relief) hate it when dogs dont sound right.......usually when dont sound right it isnt!!! but rather be lucky than good, and they did good job.
by 5th run i was assuming not much had been on ground or 2 old dogs forgot how to track??? then of course they got bout 600yd struck and ran long track and ended with ground catch. they caught in logjam then coon slipped into beaver hole dogs brought him out after got there and actually got girls off and coon lived to run again. tritonics beeper is amazing tool with trainable dogs. fun night all in all.
couple trees. every tree dogs sat back winding, never were on tree.
last run dogs caught him couple times but coon good to run again.

Re: kinda wierd hunt tonite.
I have been running my two old dogs to get them back in shape and my male is a silent trailer but my female is usually wide open on track. Last night my male made 3 trees and the female made 2 but it was the same as your dogs she let out two or three barks and located and treed. THe coon must not have been traveling much because both trees she made she was about 50 yards from where she treed when she opened up. BUt i cant complain they both had the meat on each tree.
PS you've hot some nice lookin black dogs. i have never owned one but i am thinkin about getting one if i don't breed the two coondogs i have now.
