Late summer coons sw Washington

Question for northwest coon hunters. I have had the dogs out for night walks  in preparation for coon season here in the northwest and noticed that the dogs are striking on nothing. This would be river bottom terrain, lots of corn, blackberries, swamp land and what I would figure would be a pile of coons. Question is... Do you notice the coons not traveling much due to the abundance of berries, or not hitting the ground til say 2 or 3 in the morning as opposed to late evening, or maybe both. Trying to get a seasonal feel for these guys since I am in new country. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

coons are nocturnal but they are out during the day time to your dogs could be striking on trails where they was, evening is good time around them un cut corn fields and river bottoms keep doing what you are doing try different times day or night they will tree one or corner one in time, early mornings is sometimes really good for coons to be out in about to
