Anti hound/hunting Mfg.List

Postby mike martell » Mon Jun 09, 2014 7:11 pm

We need to boycott some manufacturers that don't support our hunting rights....I just read the list on the OOC web page and will start with my own personal pet peeve close to home in Oregon that I know on a personal level.
The first on my list makes me sick!
Anti Hound hunting.

Bob Nosler
Owner of Nosler Bullet Manufacturing in Bend Oregon.

You all may remember the Wounded Warriors in Action Black Bear hunt two years ago in B.C. with Doug and myself. We were totally blown away to have received a memo from Magnum Global Media stating the following...Nosler stands behind our military troops and is proud to sponsor this production but please refrain from using hounds per Bob Nosler. I planned on going public the second the sponsor finished with supporting our military troops and the time is now. I and the McMann family went to great lengths to pick a legitimate and worthy cause and found WWIA in Apollo Beach Florida. The first recipient was a US Army American Hero that sustained injuries from an i.e.d. in Afghanistan and captured our hearts with his horrific story.....When I later returned home, I confirmed with OOC that Nosler staff rejected positions on the board of directors of our Oregon Outdoor Council as well because the hot topic issue is hounds and Cougars. Ironically having been in the position of seeking out sponsors across the Northwest, I have become aware of other manufacturers that don't support our hound hunting rights.

The next is Gerber Knives in Tigard Oregon. They bought out Fiskars and both need to be boycotted! Like Nosler, I had first hand experience with this manufacturer that also would not support our Military....Don't get me started with that! I figured they possibly would be on board if the Disabled veterans were included in my pitch for sponsorship and they would not give me the time of day because we were taking a disabled veteran hunting.

Below are a list found on OOC web page.
Ninkasi Brewing...Owner Jamie Floyd supports anti hunting groups such as predator defense and more.

R.E.I. is also hostile towards all of us as is Patagonia.com and last on my list found on the OOC web page is Inter Media Outdoors. You can look these up on the oregonoutdoorcouncil.org web page.

On a brighter side....I found Kershaw- Kai knives support our hunting and military and the founders of this company spun off of Gerber, so if you make a knife selection? Make it Kershaw-Kai.

Lets hear your story and companies to boycott next!
