HEAD'S UP ON IRISH SETTER SHADOW TREK BOOTS

Postby rich h » Mon Sep 24, 2007 10:55 pm

I bought a pair of Irish Setter Shadow Trek boots a couple month's ago at Gander Mountain. Paid about $100.00 for them. They're ultra light boots made of cordura. sort of like high-top tennis shoes. Seemed like they'd be great for working the dogs during the summer training season.

I walked an estimated 35 to 40 miles in those boots, in rugged terrain.
Recently, I noticed my socks were getting a little wet...the boots are advertised to be water proof.

upon inspecting the boots I found where the edging of the sole where it bonds to the cordura had developed a verticle split beside the ball of the foot on each boot. Its the point where the sole flexes...and that's what caused the split. In turn the boot leaks. It's a design flaw.

I emailed Irish Setter about their design flaw...they emailed back saying I should ship the boots to them and they may refund my money. Seems like a bad idea paying shipping back to them then waiting to see if they'll do anything.

My real intention was to let them know of the design flaw...assuming they would want to do something about it before they end up with a lot of unhappy customers.

I already know what I'm going to do...NOT BUY ANYMORE IRISH SETTER BOOTS.
