I agree with you. This state is absolutely insane with liberal, tree-hugger, money grubbing nonsense. If you know NJ then you know what they've been doing to our seasons. They went so far as to cancel the last actual bear season AFTER people had attended the special "bear hunting classes", bought their licenses, and gone into the woods on opening day. This year they figured out a new way to turn the financial screws during deer season. Now if you want a buck during any of the permit seasons you have to have the regular license and the permit as always but you have to buy a "buck stub" if you want a buck and you have to buy it before the season starts! The buck stub and permit are still zone-specific so if you hunt more than one place better take out a 2nd mortgage. The average license/permit/stub price is $28 for each. Do you remember the 3-day permit firearms season aka "doe days"? Well, now if you want to take a buck during that 3-day period it is gonna cost you almost $90 FOR 3 DAYS even if you only hunt one zone!!! The state is claiming it is so we will shoot more does
What idiocy!!!
Sorry, for straying so far off your topic but even mention NJ and hunting in the same sentence and I see red over how they are using it for a shameless money-making enterprise while at the same time trying to get rid of hunters.

my redbone
sleeps in the bed with us : ) He actually lives in a second floor apartment in Brooklyn, NY a couple days a week. We're about to get a second hound. Not sure how many we can keep in a one room cabin in the Catskills, but I figure we won't burn as much firewood to keep the place warm with two hounds...

I hear ya arachyd. Its one of the reasons my family decided to move outta there and stay away from the liberal, tree-hugging coasts. All they are trying to do is rape the hunters and discourage hunting period.
