Do any of you folks have one of these pellet stoves? And if you do is it for suplemental heat or a main source of heat? How does it compare to Oil or Propane? Are you having a hard time keeping supplied in pellets? Thanks for any info you might have.

pellet stoves can easily be used as a main source, cheaper than oil but getting pellets can sometimes be more difficult than you expect. We do not have oil to heat with here so I have no way of personally comparing them. Fill the hopper with a lot of pellets and set the release rate and enjoy the wamth.

We heat our house with wood only and don't even have another source of heat. But 3 of our guest cabins have baseboard heat as well as stoves just because some folks don't like dealing with the stoves or don't know how ect. No cooling in any of our cabins or main house but we are lucky not to many unbearably hot days up on the mountain.
I have seen those pellet stoves and was impressed by them... lota heat for the amount of pellets used and not much ash to deal with. And a plus is most of them will run all night with reg stoves you have go get up half way through and put more wood in sometimes if its cold... or restart in morning. But because we have free wood was no reason for us to invest in the pellet stoves.
