My box . . . .

Postby Poundhound » Thu Jan 31, 2008 3:00 am

Photos of my box. By setting it on the wheel wells I was able to get more room on the floor of the box. I can put four dogs in each side with ease, and there is enough room for them to lay down with out any growlin around.

Here you can see the room made available under the box so that I can slide things under the box, like a shovel, Hi-Lift jack, tire chains, and a tool bag. Here you can also see how much room was left below the door to help hold in the shavings. There are spring loaded hinges and heavy duty latches that won't jiggle open on the bumpy roads.

I have since switched this box to a newer Toyota. I now drive a four door Tacoma so there is room for all my boys to go with me.

bency,

i had mine built i didnt have enough time to build it my self plus i was lacking in a few supplys to do it my self. i love it though it suits me perfect i can put two gas cans on the box in the picture it shows just one in there. i have a big dump door and a little single door that come in real handy for cleaning it out or if i have alot of dogs in the box i just open that to let them all out. the only thing i am going to do is put ply wood in side as a flooring to help insulate it a little better then put shavings on top of the ply wood i think it would help a little more.

i beleive the companys name was wet coast sheet metal's i think it was a comstume fab shop it was the guys first dog box he ever built he did a heck of a job on it for it being his first time. when i was telling him what i kind of wanted he was giving ideas on what he thought might make it better, one of the things he did was on the top he rolled the top down to hide the weld and also make kind of a little gutter so the ran couldnt just drip in to the head holes i am very happy with the box. it was spendy but i really wanted one and saved up for a while to get it. glad i did.
