We tried The garmin astro out and didn't care for it. It seemed to lose signal offten and that was at fairly close range. deffinetly wouldn't rely on it for main tracking system.

There is a GPS its yellow cased and hangs around your neck and its probably as good as any and I remember in the 2003-4 yrs they was the choice of most PKC event hunters/ however if ya get under a covering in a tree line ya can loose the sighnal till ya get too at least a small clearing and then it reads ok again= I would asume they al do like that!
Maybe yellow is easer to mind if ya loose it ya can locate it easer ?!

Have a friend that has attached the garmin on the same collar as his tracking unit. Says the garmin is ok but they still need to re-design the antenna to a flexible one like our trackers. The unit also has a 5, 10 and 30 second setting for satelitle pickup.
