What are good ideas to raise memberships, and particpation in the clubs ? I try to make what events I can and encourage anyone I can to do likewise.
What would make you more likely to show up at a fundraiser ? Trial, convention, etc
What changes to a club would help you want to be part of it ?
I'm not to involved myself as leadership or anything in one. But maybe I could pass it along.

Last night we held a meeting for our Fern Ridge Tree Hound club....Hunting is on a decline and something needs to happen if we are going to continue for many more years, we will need involvement and recruitment! ....I asked two of our local officials to attend last nights meeting and both agreed...What I found out about many of our young folks is they don't bother voting or care about what happens to our rights. Why? Because no one has taken the time to explain how the system works until now, so they just don't...Every last radical environmentalist is registered to vote and turns out and this is why the minority remains the majority voice!
For this reason, I asked one County Commissioner and one of our District Representatives to discuss the importance of hunting and getting involved and that your vote really does count! It is hard for me to sit back and watch a presidential election declare a winner long before all the votes are counted and think possibly we have a problem? I get how this works but doing so is like declaring a track winner victorious before crossing the finish line seems like cheating!
Our elected officials work for us and are here to serve us, not the other way around like DC politicians currently think and act! Failure to participate has left the door wide open for the greedy politicians in office to run amok....Form a club and get busy recruiting and educating our youth....We missed a bet by not handing out voter registration cards and you can bet we will have some at the Bobcat gathering in the FRTHC-OOC-OUSDA recruitment booth....I like many would rather enjoy an event such as the gathering but can't help remember...If we don't care enough about standing strong for our future, we need not worry about a hall of fame...It will simply become....Do you remember when!
Anyone can join our hunting club for five bucks you become a number that matters....Good things happen when you have a strong show of support and like last nights meeting, we had a nice turn out and this in turns holds the attention of those elected that serve us...
Next February's legislative session in Salem brings another Cougar hunting house bill to the floor...A favorable adjustment has been made in the Oregon Senate that can only better serve our hunting interest and this time, we have a good shot at passing this!
Fern Ridge Tree Hound Club
Mid Willamette Valley Oregon. You can join and be a member from all points around the country!
$5.00 annual membership....Yes five bucks! More important to get all involved than make it too costly leaving many folks behind! Please don't compare the cost of our State organizations to our club......It takes money to lobby for your hunting rights!
OOC -OUSDA are also two critical groups to belong too....If you can't support both? You have no business owning a hound in Oregon........PERIOD!
You can join at the Bobcat Gathering....We will have membership cards and voter registration cards available! Once you follow politics in Oregon, you begin to understand a certain level of corruption is buried deep within the system and only we the people can root it out by uniting!
Thanks for starting this important post!

Mike is 100% correct. Everyone’s vote counts. Your state and county elected officials have more of an impact on your state liberties than the presidential election. You have to vote to make a change. I would hope any attack on your liberties that you take as a personnel attack on yourself and family. Every hound hunter should consider themselves activist for hound hunting rights and outdoor liberties.
Remember your activism don't stop with just hound hunting rights. You cant hunt if you can't get into the woods. The BLM and USFS are gating roads everywhere and if they aren’t gating them they are purposely not maintaining them and making them impossible to use.
I could go on but my time is limited for now. Remember get involved, register to vote, educate, research any possible candidate that is running for an elected position, expose the ones that are a threat etc, etc…

CHC put on a Trap shoot last year that made good money for the club, and we are doing another one this next weekend.
