ODFW Director Elicker Resigns

Postby mike martell » Fri Sep 05, 2014 2:49 am

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) has announced that Roy Elicker, ODFW Director, has resigned effective Oct. 10, 2014.

Mr. Elicker accepted a position as the head of the fisheries programs for the US Fish and Wildlife Service in the Northwest and Hawaii.

The future Director will enter ODFW facing a 100 million dollar agency budget shortfall over the next 6 years primarily due to declining hunting and angling license sales, an over abundance of predators that are negatively impacting our deer, elk, salmon, and steelhead.

That’s just what the liberal’s want, increase the predator population so there is no need for hunters, of course if a coyote or lion kills one of their poodles, call Seal Team Six and they think it's justified to use our tax dollars. They hire snipers to thin out the deer populations, that eat their flowers in subdivisions, while they charge hunters to hunt in some area's with limited game under unreasonable rules.
Several of the old cat hunters I know have given up, because they cannot keep up with all of the rules and they are too old to put up with being pesterd.
We all know what party brought back the Wolf, and they are wanting more and more. Once you loose a right it's almost impossible to get it back.
Hunters are the greatest conservationist, but our message has been poor and we are getting our asses kicked. Not only do we all have to vote, we have to sell others to our way of thinking and to give money to organizations that support our cause always helps.
We have to take the fight to them, I am glad to be in such good company willing to do what they can.

Brian

It can only help our cause!

Sometimes we need to be careful what we wish for however....

Simply having Senator Jackie Dingfelder gone helps our cause the most!

Mike
