State Land Access in Washington

Postby TGA » Tue Feb 10, 2015 8:32 pm

Out of curiosity, have any houndsmen/women had issues with access to state lands or "public lands" in the state of Washington?

Some states have imposed restrictions on dogs running (unleashed) on public lands during certain times of the year. Or have denied access in it's entirety. Or there are limitations to access, like certain "bow hunting only" areas, etc.

Has this become an issue in Washington state?

Thanks in advance for any insight and/or information you can provide!

The state of Washington has a proposal for public comment to lift some of the restrictions on hunting with hounds during the deer and elk season.

You need to go to: http://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/regulations/seasonsetting/

Click on the View Comment box towards the top of the page.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page to the Small Game and Hunting Restrictions section.

Click on the numbers 232-12-242 to the right of Hunting Restrictions, to view the proposal. Then go back and click on the Start Commenting to provide feedback.

Comments will only be accepted through February 24th.
