GOP Debate
Last night we witnessed something never seen in politics. Three presidential hopefuls with no previous political experience. The last debate, three plus years ago we had here on BGH pertaining to what drives people to get out and vote is what drives my questions on this thread from my own curiosity....I find the following paragraph interesting:
The United States of America is the only country in history to have defined itself as Judeo-Christian. While the Western world has consisted of many Christian countries and consists today of many secular countries, only America has called itself Judeo-Christian. America is also unique in that it has always combined secular government with a society based on religious values.
IMO, many Judeo-Christians stayed home the last two elections paving the way for a radical liberal anti American socialist BHO to become POTUS....I remain baffled and what leads to my question to those who detest career politicians and simply did not vote for this reason.
Will you vote for Donald Trump-Carly Fiorina or Ben Carson should one of them become the GOP nominee? Looking at how far BHO has driven America into the ground, I rest my case about voting for the lesser of evils and should one of the three get the GOP nod? I'm damn sure going to support them because I know what the democrat party is all about and IMO, America can't take one more four year term under socialist dictatorship now defined as the DEMOCRAT party, I might add I'm not big on the GOP either. You want to dispute my analogy? Look at the self proclaimed Socialist Bernie Sanders and how high he ranks in the polls with Democrats? You are in a coma if you think anything different about the Democrat party as a whole...I'm not that fond of the GOP, but always side with the lesser of two evils, one party we still hold hope for changing and the other is beyond change...
Here is what I'm hearing....Trump has alienated the Hispanic voters but intrigued the Judeo-Christian voters to turn out and vote should he become the nominee.
Lets hear your thoughts.....Thanks!

I concur...I have a fluent English speaking Hispanic ranch Forman friend and the labor hired on these ranches are all legal and audited weekly during harvest, I spend quit a bit of time with them and the question did come up because that's how I roll...Here is what Luis recently told me, we are honored to be here in America and work with pride and do not tolerate those who come here illegally and do support Trump.
They also don't tolerate Caucasians that walk on the job site and light up a joint either, 100% of those hired last season did just that, nor do I and why I get along better with the Hispanics than I do most crackers in S.W. Oregon defining todays democrats. S.W. Oregon has about 85% unemployment in the small community and my buddy who owns the ranch pays by piece work-performance, this translates to those willing to work can make three or four hundred dollars in a 10 hour shift.
Two younger hard working Hispanics make 5-600 per day, I know, I Forman over all of them. Vote for Bernie is the liberals motto, we can sit back and watch as Bernie declares war on my Winery owner buddy for being a rich greedy Capitalist....Never mind he still drives the same car he has since 1996 and built his small business by sacrifice over the last forty years, even he being the biggest democrat in Oregon asked me this summer, why am I a democrat as a business owner? my reply, because your stupid!
If the Hispanics comprehend, I'm just not sure how those who support the second amendment, hunt hounds and believe in Capitalism continue to think they are better off voting democrat? JMO!

Re: GOP Debate
I don't understand it. I had the same conversation with a customer a few years ago.
I asked him several questions and he could not understand why he was a democrat either except that was what his daddy taught him! LMAO Go figure!

Re: GOP Debate
Independent . its a small moral statement. I personally think the government is beyond repair. Replacement of the vast majority of our electees is the only thing I hold any hope for. When its harder to name law abiding officials then those that should be charged multiple times in the court of law you know things are outta hand.

Re: GOP Debate
I registered as a Democrat 40 years ago. I stayed registered as a Democrat so I can vote against some people twice.
Re: GOP Debate
I can't say I see much difference in most cases. Its a illusion of the people having much say in how the government is run. But people seem OK enough with it to allow it to continue. The two party system trips lots of people up and I'm sure it has more or less since the beginning. Anytime you centralize control/ power there's the possibility/probability it will be abused eventually. The problem we have is its so commonplace its no longer punished or fixed when it happens. The punishment for any public official from cop - president breaking any law should be harsher by mandate then the average citizen. The reason behind this is simple. They first chose to become public servants the situation is never a surprise nor forced upon them. Secondly these crimes affect many more people and often generations. So the simplest crime if it could be called such has a more profound impact when done with their power.
People have gotten complacent in questioning their public servants and punishing them.
Trump only worries me because his record shows he will stretch the rules as much as he can for his benefit. But on the other hand he has no qualms about others benefitting from his successes. America needs to bring these things back to our shores.
The shipping of industry over seas is a terrible act. Most advancements in any given field our made by the workers in that field. Now if we own the intellectual property its fine for the nation. But eventually these small break throughs will be the achievements of foreign nations and we will be the ones trying to catch up.
Vote by all means as its a simple thing to do. But there's more needing to be done. And the local levels are where individual voices have most impact.

When we the people break the law we go to jail....When out elected officials break the law it's called politics...You have an interesting perspective on local politics being as or more important than National...
Back in 2009 I began a campaign in State to get our hunting rights reinstated here in Oregon and have developed a relationship with both my District Rep and Senator and most of our conservative elected officials...What I have learned is something that drives me to stay in the game....Corruption beyond words or imagine on the local lever defines daily routine in our State Capitol.
I have often said, as corrupt as our local politicians are, I can't begin to grasp politics on the larger scale and see why we are totally screwed....That said, I'm at this point, why fight when you can't rally your base...Here is what I can tell you, one person on a mission can change things locally, squeaky wheel gets the grease and why radicals are so effective. I have had several house bills sponsored by simply working with my district rep and Senator...
I have also got one Senate bill all the way through to law, next session, I'm working on a bill currently to over haul the wording in property title reports...I have been involved in Oregon States largest law suit stemming from Government picking the winners and losers in business by arbitrarily giving a private corporation millions of stimulus dollars only for that same corporation spin this back around and sue my local County government and we the people...I'm also looking at a half to one million dollars in legal fees depending on the outcome thanks solely to government and financially ruined for life....I have developed the politicians attitude in this matter, what difference does it make! Pick a number and get in line to collect! Life is too short to think I really care and refuse to spend any more time on this mess created by my government but have no choice to remain engaged....
If you followed in my foot steps you would better understand what drives me politically....I didn't start out with much interest in politics...As the old saying goes, you don't have to take an interest in politics, politics will develop an interest in you....I spend lots of time at our State Capitol and think if I can make a difference, what would happen if we had ten people, just ten people hitting the floor as often as I do...I damn well guarantee you we wouldn't be in as big a mess as we are locally...The reason politicians do as they do? No one to holds their feet to the flames....
Politicians remind me of a trashy pack of hounds where the handler is not paying attention to detail, the next thing you know the entire pack is run amok and needs shot! Most politicians need shot for the same reasons! But it's our own fault, human nature sends out mixed signals or worse yet, no signals at all! My hounds are managed like a well oiled machine with my attitude or position, I'm not going to let you bas&@#$% get away with nothing and the same goes for my local representatives....When you have a majority like Oregon that is 26-34 in House and 18-12 in Senate and a liberal bi sexual Governor in the majority, not much you can do about nothing but piss them all off!!!! It's a game of me being a thorn in their a@@ as long as I'm around!

Re: GOP Debate
Does anyone else believe as I,Donald Trump is very likely going to lead this nation into another major war? I could vote for Ben or maybe Bush, but Trump in my opinion, is a ticking time bomb if elected president. Do admit, change is needed. Commend you on your efforts Mike. Al
Re: GOP Debate
I don't know his attitude might . I don't think his business would he isn't very deeply tied to those businesses that typically profit from war. But like they say war only sucks if you or yours die or loose in it. For everyone else its a improvement. I guess loss has a wide interpretation there.
China bothers me the most. With their govt. Flexing and showing off its military growth has been very high. Russia maybe but unless we cause it I think its more a instigator.
Chinas got that separation of power from the people that can let a few start a war for the whole nation.
Mike I get what your saying . my point is your story and experience is far from unique. And its in so many areas of govt. And so many states. Counties etc. My personal interactions with our higher government officials has left me with a poor impression. Granted there's many more then I've met. Oddly one of the only politicians I've met that made me step back and say he cares about the people and improving things, without a hint of personal pocket lining. Was from mexico the nation known for poor corrupt government.

Re: GOP Debate
someone's got to say it, what about Rand Paul for a change. We talk about a different approach to things, he's really worth looking at. He won the debate. No fear mongering, no chickenhawk war drum bullshit or hot button, emotional or religious Israel first crap. Just follow the constitution. Are we a country whos forefather's gave a big middle finger to the largest empire the world had ever seen? Then why would you vote for someone who put's other countries in front of our best interest. Our country is broke. Worried about a power vacuum if we pull back a little from the world stage, well shoulda thought about that one in the 70's. How exactly did the USSR fall, that's right they went bankrupt, but why? Over extension? While we continue to have the worlds reserve currency we will be ok but fiat currency never does. Look at the BRICS. The writing is on the wall.
Of course there are about 400 other fckrs out there that need to be replaced and as mentioned, locally , where things affect you more directly, needed change must happen. When the lawmakers break the law there is no law. As long as your livin right, f'em. Screw the two party system. Look at G. Washington's farewell address, he WARNED US. The lesser of two evils is still evil. The incumbent and old gop/repubs don't a give a shit about you. They'll sell your kids soul for their pocketbooks. They have for the past 20 years + with all of these endless wars on "terrorism". All i'm saying is what has already been said above in more words so don't forget to replace YOUR incumbent in 2016. Mike, I don't know how you do it, but keep on it. The squeaky wheels do get greased.
Sorry for the ramble, now please go take a look at Rand.
