typical bunny huggers....first they stripped the rights of the houndsmen from running cougars now they are gonna go after the sportmen too using the price of a tag as motivation.
Is it too late for the people of oregon to open their eyes and realize that we as sportmen are in this fight together rather then just fighting for our own cause. Maybe if all sportsmen stood together on the first fight the hound hunting wouold have never been taken away
Same philosphy in maine, they will go after bait hunting first, then will be the hounds, then it will be all bear hunting in general......wake up people

Well said spanky If any one thinks they will get lion hunting back in Ore. I want to sell them some beach property I own in NM And if The rest of the country dosent wake up there will not be any type of hunting and this will in clude Rats. Then the anti gun people will start on guns and they will make it stick. In some states it is illgal to carry or transort a gun if its not hunting season now.So you had better look out.

Yep the tags were dropped to $10.00 because they have not met quota since they banned it with dogs... Hell no we are never going to get it back.. I know that.. Doesn't mean I can't help with trying.. And the part that says "Hunter kill" accounts for 284 deaths" out of that article.. Okay I am going to say it.. They were not just done by someone who "happened" across a cat while hunting. Yes some where but you know not all of them were and if hunters would realize that cats killed with "questionable" measures weren't counted in the quota for Fish and Game it would make their numbers look worse on population control...

sounds like that faye guy is a fruit if you ask me saying that cougar pose no threat to humans. what a load of bs. its people like him that shove all this brain washing crap to the public and make them believe they are cute fury purring over sized house cats and they don't ever kill any livestock or pets. Since that ban here and there the lions have found not to fear man, they are starting to move right in with us. The only real difference I see since then is that all the lower cats near towns and such where harvested. leaving the ones in the woods where they belong. Our state did the same thing by lowering the cougar and bear tags. Now any hunter or anybody can buy a tag. You think when one of these persons sees a cougar they care if its a female with kittens or a young male ?? NO they aim and shoot. At least with our sport you get the choice to harvest it or not and many people I know now are forced to kill anything that goes up to keep huntin which is wrong. The states need to step up and take control and put a quota on the species and thats that. once the quota is met then huntin is over till next season. With the aid of hounds you get to choose and let the young grow the moms stay around and raise more and only take the old toms that have already lived their life and take population down where every one can live with. this lowering the tags price and slaughtering any cougar or bear u see is not the answer if u ask me. Other hunters that don't care about the cats kill what ever they see and helps the states get to their quta just doesn't work for me. Why not give it back to us give us a quta that works and sell them tags for a pretty penny. They would make more revenue and get the numbers where they want them. you could give 20,000 hunters tags and only 50 of them would be lucky to ever kill a cougar while out deer or elk or whatever kind of hunting. Something should be done and we need to help get that something done.
