I recently bought one, I plan to pick it up this weekend. It’s been sitting for quite a while. Anyone have one? What should I look into first? I know I’m gonna have to most likely rebuild the carb, change the oils, grease bearings, etc. What are their weak points?

For those who don’t know what they are, here’s a youtube video of one. They don’t come with tracks, this guy put them on it.

Yes sir, I plan to put tracks on it and build a cab for it. I also plan on putting front and rear rigging racks on it. But if for some reason I can’t I will build a trailer with sled skis or maybe tracks. That way I can haul a dog box. They’re rated to pull 1,000 lbs!

I'd be curious to see what its fuel consumption is like? How much snow are u anticipating running it in? Definitely looks like a fun toy!

Yeah, I’m gonna have to figure the fuel efficiency out when I get it running. Probably in up to 24” of snow. I don’t think I’ll get much over that in my area. I think as soon as the snow crusts over, this little guy will cruise everywhere no problem. I will keep 5-10 gal of extra fuel in the roof rack I’m thinking.

I saw a youtube video of someone running it in 24” of fresh powder. It looked like it compacted the snow down a foot. I’ll see if I can find that video.

I would think as long as u keep the same trails or roads packed down all winter you would never have to much trouble. How wide is it?

Yeah, I believe you’re right. It’s 56” wide outside of tires, has a 6’ 7” wheel base and is 7’ 6” long over all.

I’m not sure, I haven’t ever drove one. I have a lot to do to this one before I can drive it. But yeah, I think they are. They have 400 and something cc 2 cyl Vanguards stock. I’m not sure if this one has a stock motor or not. I will have to pull it apart and service it to find out. Hopefully I will get my hunting truck put back together next week and then I’ll be able to start working on it.

First time I seen one of them in the woods a buddy of mine had one and brought a crippled boy to his first Bear tree.

That’s really cool! I’m hoping to be able to get the wife and kids to go hunting with me more, if I can get this one running.

So the VFD Chief took today off and went out of town to visit his daughter. I should have contacted him directly instead of telling his volunteers that I was going to be there today to get it… But he’s going to let me use his personal atv trailer to haul it homeIn 3 weeks when I head home again. I don’t have to winch it into the bed of my truck now lol.
