what is your favorite part of hunting?

Postby nmplott » Sat Aug 04, 2007 1:03 am

I was wondering what your favorite part of hunting? To me it doesn't matter what we are hunting it has always been about spending time with my hunting partners who have always been my father and brothers. It didn't really matter if we got anything because of the memories that we got from each trip were always more important, yeah sure it bugged when we got nothing but the time we spent was by far a greater reward. Now that we have all gotten older and have busier and busier lives, its the hunting that we can actually unwind and have a good time.

Just being in the great outdoors for me. Then of course would have to say the music of the hounds trailing. I don't hunt deer or elk. I guess it would be the pursuit. I call for yotes and that is alot of fun. even though 75% of the time nothing comes in or didn't see it before it seen us.

Yes, I agree !! The time in the wild with a pack of hounds and the mountain. I find it very relaxing and rejuvinating!!! I just wish i had more time to hunt the way i would like to. Hopefully by spring i can get back to the way i use to hunt. Sam you and bearcoon have a great season and i hope to finally meet up with you guys sometime instead of talking hunting on here, maybe sometime we can get together and put a blackie up.

Good hunting

well, it feels like to me, that i'm on a mission "take down the 6 point buck and leave the spike" but thats what i like about hunting by myself, but i love deer season w/ my uncle, cousins and the 20 other huntin' buddies, i don't get to see them that much since i moved, so its always fun to see them on deer hunts
its not were you come from, its were your going

Some of you may remember famous many times world champion bron rider Monty (Hawkeye) Henson. When asked what he liked about the cowboy life he said. Every #amn thing pard I like her all!

I guess that's what I would have to say about hunting especially with hounds or bird dogs. I liker her all!

Mike,

I'd have to agree with you.

Doesn't matter what I'm doing or hunting, Most of the time I don't carry a gun, and forget the camera 90% of the time.

Just something about being out in the woods, no schedules, No roads, and (most of the time) no worries or distractions.

f250 powerstroke 38,000 dollars, rifles and shells 1,000 dollars, hunting license and tages, 75 dollars, beer, 20 dollars, getting stuck with your buddy on a snowdrift in his brand new stroker in the middle of the mountains with a case of beer, priceless. a bad day of hunting is better than any good day at work for me. i just love being out there whether we're on the game or stuck in the middle of nowhere. something about the mountains that makes me forget about everything that i struggle with in this world. the beer is only for entertainment purposes :D

Its all about the pursut, training of the hounds and being in the outdoors. Being I have always been into fitness as well the hiking and physical aspects also is a challange..
